Quinceanera Dresses
One of the most exciting elements to any girl’s 15th birthday is her quinceanera dress. It has to be perfect! But which one should you choose? Should you stay traditional? Or should you try something a little more modern and maybe find a dress that is different from everyone else’s quinceanera dresses? Here are some tips and tricks to help you find the quinceanera dress of your dreams.
1. Color. Even though most traditional Quinceanera dresses are white, it has become popular and more importantly, acceptable, to wear soft shades of pink, peach or even the lightest shades of blue. When trying to decide on what color you think you’d like, take the rest of your celebration into consideration. What color are your Damas wearing? If you have decided on a pastel colored dress for them, you may want to choose a white quinceanera dress for yourself to insure that you stand out from the crowd. You can also check to see what colors your parents’ outfits consist of, and choose yours accordingly. Remember, the photos taken during your special day will be around forever, you don’t want to end up wishing you had made a different choice.
2. Style. Shopping for Quinceanera dresses can be very exciting. It can also be very overwhelming and frustrating if you don’t find what you like right away. The most important thing to keep in mind is that any dress can be altered and changed to suit your taste and preference. If you love it and feel it is “the one” then speak to the shop manager about alterations and what they feel can be done to improve the fit of the dress.
3. Cost. We all want to be able to choose whatever dress we love, with no consideration for cost, but unfortunately this isn’t always the case. When you are looking for perfect Quinceanera dresses try to think outside the box. Dresses that are considered “bridal” can be priced very high! Try looking through catalogues for bridesmaids dresses that could possibly work. These dresses can be ordered in white or ivory and are usually half the cost of a bridal gown. You may also want to look into hiring someone to make your dress for you. This may seem like a pricey option but the truth is, after altering an off-the-rack dress to fit, having a dress made that fits you from the start may save you money.
