What to include in your Quinceanera poem
When you are planning your Quinceanera, one very important part of the celebration happens long before the big event, and that’s the invitations. Included in the invitation should be a Quinceanera poem, which is what your Quince day means to you.
You will make your invitation original by writing your own words, and it may become a special keepsake for some of your guests. But poems aren’t easy, especially if you’re not a wordsmith. So what should your Quinceanera poem say? And how do you say it?
Look to other poems for inspiration. If you are not very creative, you can read poetry written by any poet, or read other Quinceanera poems for inspiration, but the poem should be your own.
Write about what your Quince day means to you. Write from your heart. When you are true and sincere to your feelings, any poem you write will be beautiful.
Do not be overly critical of your poem. You don’t need perfect prose, and your verses don’t have to rhyme. This is about you and your day. No one is grading your poem.
Mention your parents and what they mean to you. If you have a special memory of your father, include it. If you mother has given you valuable advice, acknowledge it. This tribute you give to them will mean more than anything you will ever do in your life.
Also include your friends and family and what they mean to you. Their love and support has graced you through childhood, and you look forward to their love and guidence into adulthood.
Make an inclusion on your plans and hopes for the future. Your Quinceanera is about your transition into adulthood. Include your dreams and aspirations and what becoming an adult means to you. How you will make an impact and be a responsible adult.
But any way you go, as long as your words come from your heart, your Quinceanera poem will be treasured by friends and family because it was written by you.
